YOU WON’T BELIEVE This Craft Room Transformation! (Prepare to be AMAZED!). I know this has taken FOREVER, but I am thrilled that my Craft Room is now back to a useable state. I have removed a whole wall of Ikea Kallax units (donated to a local Charity Shop) and replaced them with a wonderful new desk.

The most exciting outcome from this transformation is that the space feels like a haven, rather than a work space. This had been my hope, but hope and result don’t always coincide. Given that the only major changes have been removing the Kallax and buying the new desk, I was never convinced that I would get my desired result. Oh, and I love that tryptic picture, which was on sale at Ikea.

I am loving my wall of sewing patterns, this is a great way of adding some interest to the back of my pegboards while also being a place to store them, at least for the moment, if I get more than 5 more patterns I will need an additional storage solution, but for now it works. I had to get that little cat tent, see bottom left, I’m convinced the cats will sleep anywhere other than in it, but it was just too cute to leave in the shop.

I’m not sure what to do with the silk flowers yet, but for now they are working in the gap between the pegboards. I have turned my craft desk through 90o so it acts as a room divide and also helps to make the most of the pretty small space I have available. You may notice that there are just a few(!) Blending Brushes on the pegboard. One of the things that shocked me as I went through all the drawers and cupboards was the obvious hoarding that I had been doing. None of this was intentional, I just couldn’t find anything, so simply bought more!

If you know me at all, you will know that as far as paper crafts are concerned, my real happy place is NOT making cards, in fact I don’t find that at all enjoyable, I can do it, but I really don’t want to. My REAL happy place is Scrapbooking. Not only do I enjoy it, I think it is really important that we should record our memories, not simply for us and our families, but for future history. Have you noticed that when you look at history, it is a record of ‘important’ or ‘significant’ events. There is very little about what ordinary people got up to, how we live is what makes future Social History. My excuse for scrapbooking the next few years will be that I have a LOT of supplies to use up! This is only a small selection of the paper I need to use.

I still have my die cutting supplies where they were, but now they are joined by Enamel Dots, small alpha stickers, spritzes and sticker books, all of which I have more than sufficient of. Bear in mind that this is only what I did not give away, and that I have kept less than I have gifted. Seriously, don’t let me buy more supplies until I have made a significant dent in this lot!

So, there you go, a quick overview of how I have reorganised my space. If you need to know where I am at any time, you will probably find me here. I have pretty much everything I need for a whole day in here. The top of the printer cupboard now houses my Drinks Station, with Coffee Machine and Waterdrop Water on hand.
