Keep Your Gin Up from Visible Image

Keep Your Gin Up from Visible Image. I have been very remise recently about sharing the cards I have made during my regular Tuesday morning Live YouTube events. I am going to go back now and share the missing cards over the next few days.

First Up are the cards I made with the Keep Your Gin Up stamps and dies from Visible Image. I made three cards using this set, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t love them all.

What I especially like about this stamp set is that you can use the ‘gin’ sentiment with a number of the other sentiments to get different results, as I have on this card.

This card uses very few colours, just Lemon Lolly, Soft Sea Foam and Daffodil Delight, with a pop of Red for the ‘Gin’ and bottle top and the sentiment on the inside of the card.

For the next card I only used Smoky Slate and Lemon Lolly Ink. I am such a fan of cards that don’t have too many colour on them, it keeps them looking stylish and not too fussy.

For this card I used the dies so the stamped background didn’t get in the way of the images, but I could have chosen to use masks instead, which would have given the same result. The difference would have been that I would have stamped the glass, bottle and ice cubes first, then stamped them again on masking paper and fussy cut them , placing the masks over the images before I stamped the ‘splodges’.

The result would probably have looked more ‘meant’, but would have taken quite a bit longer to create. My card just involved stamping and die cutting, which is pretty instant.

Last up I went for a change of colours adding Azure Afternoon to the colour palette, but keeping the design really simple. Just the bottle and Gin glass on top of the stunning gold foiled acetate. The card only needs a few gems to finish it off.

Adding the solid images to the acetate give you lots of surface area to add adhesive to the back, meaning you can hide where you put it. Of course the larger areas of foiling are great places to hide adhesive too.

Having used this stamp set just a few times, I know already that it will become a firm favourite for me. It is perfect for lots of occasions and for many of my friends. Which is not to say we all drink lots of gin, but the odd one here and there is OK, isn’t it?
