HELP ME! I only need one Halloween card and no Halloween Stamps

HELP ME! I only need one Halloween card and no Halloween Stamps! So don’t buy a Halloween Stamp Set, you just don’t need to. All you need to do is look at what stamp sets you already have and see if you can change how you use them to make them fit the Halloween theme.

I am really not a fan of Halloween, but sometimes I do feel that I need to make a, very, few Halloween cards. Now in the past I would probably have bought a new Halloween stamp set, but you really don’t need to. All you need to do is look at what you already have and give them a Halloween Twist. I do have the Throughout The Year Stamp Set, which includes a ‘Trick or Treat’ sentiment, so that certainly helps me. But other than that, I have nothing that is specifically Halloween. Knowing that I love to use embossing folders for more than simple embossing, that helped with the background.

I added some Fresh Freesia ink to one side of the So Swirly Embossing folder and ran a piece of Basic White through it. The ink ended up in the debossed areas of the card. To bring a more definite Halloween theme, I took my Granny Apple Green Blending Brush and gently added ink to the embossed area of the card. The result is ghostly swirls on the card, just what I was hoping for. I added this to a piece of Granny Apple Green card and added a narrow strip of retired ribbon. All this was added to a Gorgeous Grape card base. Stamping ‘Trick or Treat’ in Gorgeous Grape ink, cut out and added to the bottom right of the card pretty much finished the look I was after, other than a few flat discs.

But that was just the start of my Halloween card. Because I wanted it to have a surprise element, I stamped one of the pea pods to the bottom left and coloured it in Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather to give it more of that Halloween vibe.

I added an outline of Dark Soft Sea Foam to give the look of the peas being fussy cut. I adding Soft Sea Foam to the edge of images whether they are flat or raise. It just helps them ‘pop’. So what do you think? Have a look at exactly how I made the card, from start to finish, in the video below.
