Let’s Create A Mini 6×8 Album Together! – Part 3

Let’s Create A Mini 6×8 Album Together! – Part 3. Last week I showed you how to make the three styles of pages that I have used in the album and how to add these to the album. This week we will be decorating them, which you probably want to do before you add them to your album! I will be repeating some of the photos from last week and use them more than once this week.

To add patterned paper, you want a piece cut to 7-1/2 x 5-1/2″. You can add a narrow band across this piece to hold a ‘slip’. I tend to cut the band to about 1 or 1-1/2″ (the border prints from the 6 x 6″ paper pack were perfect for these) and adhere it with liquid adhesive, then the ‘slip’ can be about 6-1/2 x 4-1/2″.

For the top opening pockets the paper for the outside of the page is the same as for the full page. In fact it is the same for ALL the pages. For the side opening pocket you need one piece of card cut at 8-1/4 x 5-3/4″, scored on the short edge at 1/4″. The second piece of card needs to be cut at 7-3/4 x 5-3/4″ and has no scoring. Add adhesive to the seams and adhere to the second piece of card. I had 2 side pocket and 3 top pocket pages with 5 full pages.

If you want to include some tuck pockets on your pages you can use any 2 pieces of paper and overlap them. You need to adhere the top piece fully, but the bottom piece should only have adhesive on the sides and bottom. Once this is added to the page it will form a pocket for you. This is a great way of using up shorter pieces, or paper from the 6 x 6″ pad., just remember you need the width of both pieces to be 5-1/2″ and the total of the height to be at least 7-1/2″. The slip is still cut to 6-1/2 x 4-1/2″

For the tuck pieces for the pockets you need to cut the inserts at 7-1/4 x 5-1/4″ for the side pockets and 7-1-2 x 5″ for the top pockets. Punch a tab for each page (I used the Keeping Tabs Punch from Stampin’ Up!) and adhere in the middle before adding patterned paper or card. For the top pocket I cut paper at 7-1/4 x 4-3/4″ and white card at 7 x 4-1/4″. For the side pocket I cut paper at 7 x 5″ and white card at 6-3/4 x 4-3/4″.

Next week I will be showing you the Cherry Cobbler Album, used making soon to be released Stampin’ Up! products!
