Coffee and Crafts REPLAY – Christmas in August with Trinity Stamps – Mele Kalikimaka. One of the joys I am finding now that I am not a Stampin’ Up! Demo is that I am looking at other products. I was lucky enough to get the Mele Kalikimaka stamp set from Trinity Stamps with an order I placed at Scrapbook.com, who have some amazing offers and coupon codes most of the time!

I thought it would be fun to have a ‘play’ with it, combining it with Stampin’ Up! products that I already have. I especially wanted to use the So Swirly embossing folder, which to my mind looks like sea.

I started by colouring both the images in the set with Stampin’ Blends, having already stamped and fussy cut them. I simply added these to an Azure Afternoon layer that I had embossed. I added the finished layer to a Basic White card base.

Next I used a die from the Greetings of The Seasons die set, a Stampin’ Up! Online Exclusive. I stamped the palm tree on the die cut and then added the same image, fussy cut and coloured, over the top. Can you see the extra stars in the background? That is the effect I was looking for.

I added some Azure Afternoon ribbon to the die and tied it in place with a length of Linen Thread. I added this to the Daffodil Delight So Swirly layer and added that to an Azure Afternoon card base.

My final card was a really quick one, using another die from the Greetings of the Season set. I simply coloured a final Santa and added this to the die. This time I added some Iridescent Trim to the tag and tied it in place with some white Baker’s Twine.

I wanted to use the So Swirly embossing folder again, but this time I used it on the front of a Poppy Parade card base. This gives a very different look to the card, in my opinion.
One of the ladies on the Live had a question about the different colouring options, so I spent a few minutes showing her the difference between Stampin’ Blends (any alcohol marker in fact), Stampin’ Write Markers (or other felt-tipped pens) and Watercolour pencils. The others on the Live Chat helped her too. I love the community that has built up around these Lives. It is why I love to share my ideas in this way.
