Pet-tastic Handmade Card Collection In A Handmade Gift Box. So I have a two for one for you today. I decided to make a set of note cards using the Pets & More stamp set, but also wanted it to be turned into a gift.

Although I had made four of the cards before I started the video, other than measuring the stack of cards and envelopes for the box, I had not done any prep, which was a little scary.

The Pets & More stamp set is one of Stampin’ Up!s Reversible sets, which means it is designed so that you use both the front of the stamp AND the back, making is so quick to get a two-tone stamped image.

I wanted the images to ‘pop’ a little, so I stamped them on smooth Basic White card, punched them out and then used a Blending Brush to add some Pool Party Ink. I cut a mask from our Masking Paper and then simply added the colour.

Because I wanted all the cards to ‘work’ together, so kept to a fairly neutral colour palette with Basic Beige, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Copper Clay and Pecan Pie for the solid stamping, this helps to keep the set feeling cohesive.

I added a very short piece of the Iridescent Striped Ribbon behind each of the punched pieces and then popped them up with Dimensionals. To finish the cards I stamp ‘Just a Note’ at the bottom right corner. Using Pool Party Ink again helps to tie everything together.

Because I wanted the box and cards to look like a set, I used Pool Party Ink and the Pool Party paper from Country Woods. A final length of the same ribbon and everything looks like a set.
Box Dimensions
The box needed to be just a little larger than the envelopes and deep enough for all of the cards, including Dimensionals. I like a really snug box so the contents don’t get damaged as it moves around. The final dimensions of the box are 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 x 1″, so I needed two pieces of card, each 5-3/4 x 7-1/4″. This is a happy coincidence as it means you only need one sheet of card, whether you use International A4 or North American Letter size. If you have followed me for any time at all, you will know that I trimmed a tiny amount from one long edge and one short edge; this will be your base. Score all edges at 1″ and you are ready to make the box up, following the video. I cut my paper for the lid at 3-1/2 x 5″ for the top, plus TWO EACH of 3/4 x 3-1/2″ and TWO EACH of 3/4 x 5″.
