Crafty Coffee Break: Live Replay Of Brand New Stampin’ Up! Inspirational Sketches. To say I enjoyed yesterday’s Live Crafting session on YouTube would be understating my enjoyment level. I LOVED it!
I had decided to use the Country Woods paper, which I think is perfect to set off these stamps. As well as deciding on the paper, I also decided that I was going to be minimal in my colouring of the images, they really don’t need much.
Cute Sparrow
My first card was the cute sparrow, with just Basic Beige and Pecan Pie card, using Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie Blends. The ribbon and Spotlight on Nature Dies lift the final card a little, but it needed more.
What was needed were some embellishments, so what did I do? I chose a retired set, obviously, the Speckled Dots, but you could use the Opal Rounds I used on the other cards.
Stunning Mushrooms
When I was looking for some inspiration for this stamp set I saw a card with the mushrooms that just caught my eye because of the blue ink blending. I knew I had to use that, so chose the Misty Moonlight wood paper. I layered this with Crumb Cake and Wild Wheat card
Having die cut the image using the Deckled Rectangles, I used the same Stampin’ Blends, but with the addition of Ivory. Adding some Misty Moonlight ink to the edge before popping it up on Dimensionals was the perfect finishing touch. That said, a few Opal Rounds didn’t hurt either!
corrected flowers
I am always honest about things and if I make a mistake I am very happy to share that. Last week one of my cards was upside down, so needed to be dealt with. This week, I really did not like how I did the colouring on the flowers. I should add that at this stage of the Live I had developed visual aura, so couldn’t see properly, but I really was not happy.
This is not that version! I stamped the image again (still using Basic Beige ink) and used the same Blends of Petal Pink and Wild Wheat, but added some water colour pencils for some of the shading. This version makes me MUCH happier. I just added it on top of the original version with some Stampin’ Seal.
