Coffee and Card LIVE REPLAY New Hearts & Hugs Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! Are you ready to make five cards with the stamp set I bought for just 2 sentiments? The Hearts & Hugs Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! has the two piece sentiment ‘Sending a Big Hug’ and ‘So It’s There When You Need It’. This is perfect for so many occasions and I know I will be using it a lot, with and without the cute animals in the stamp set. So this was the stamp set I chose to us on this week’s YouTube Live.

I decided that to save time I would do all the stamping, then the colouring and die-cutting before ink blending the Deckled Circles and constructing the cards. Well I am sure it did save time, but it still took longer than I thought, but here are the finished cards.

Walruses – Sending Birthday Hugs

And, ‘yes’ for those of you who have watched the video, I have checked and it is ‘Walruses’. I coloured these in Pebbled Path and Gray Granite Blends, with Light Crumb Cake tusks. The deckled circle has Pebbled Path and Balmy Blue ink on it.

I mounted the Walruses and sentiment (stamped in Pebbled Path, as all the sentiments are) on Dimensionals and finished the card off with some die cut hearts in Pretty In Pink Card. I think this is a perfect card for anyone.

Badgers – I could just hug you!

OK, well I don’t think I would actually hug a badger, they are not that cute and cuddly in real life. Fortunately I checked the markings for a badger before I started, because otherwise they would have been very wrong. I did spot that they are not a true black and that there is a lot of pale colouring in amongst the ‘black’. With this in mind I coloured in Pebbled Path and Gray Granite again, adding the darker colours with individual strokes.

This time I used Granny Apple Green ink with the Balmy Blue, but I still added some Pretty in Pink die cut hearts. This time I added some Fine Tip Glue to the hearts to give them a sheen.

Hamster – Sending A big hug

This is the card I made using the sentiments that I bought the stamp set for, so it is my favourite! The hamster is coloured with Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake, with a Light Pretty in Pink nose. I LOVE this little chap!

I repeated the Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue ink blending for this card, and, of course, added more of those Pretty in Pink hearts with more Fine Tip Glue.

Mouse – Thanks

My last animal card is this little mouse with his HUGH heart. The mouse is Crumb Cake and Pretty in Pink, with the heart in Pretty in Pink.

This time I added the Pretty in Pink Hearts without adding Fine Tip Glue.

Die-cut flowers

My final card is probably the quickest to make as there is just the ink blended circle and some die-cutting and sticking to be done. I chose Granny Apple Green and Melon Mambo card for this card, and changed the layer to Balmy Blue for a change.

I added two clusters of hearts to this card, one in a grouping and the other like three dots. All of these have had Fine Tip Glue added for that extra sheen.

And we are done! I hope you enjoyed these cards. They are pretty straightforward, nothing too involved, just a first visit to a cute stamp set purchased for that two piece sentiment.
