#SimpleStamping Saturday – Walk in the Forest with Beary Cute. Were you worried that I had forgotten to post a project today? You can see why I have posted later today further in this post, but for now, prepare for some cuteness.
#SimpleStamping Saturday Version
Today’s #SimpleStamping Card uses the Beary Cute Stamp set, which is well named. For the sample project I used Garden Green Ink to stamp the tree and then Tuxedo Black to stamp the outline of the tree and bear, as well as the sentiment. I decided to colour with our Early Espresso watercolour pencil and then moved the pigment around with the Stampin’ Blend Colour Lifter.
For my second version of the project, I decided not to colour the bear, making it a polar bear instead of a brown bear. I did add some Wink of Stella to his back for a bit of fun.
First Stepped Up Version
I couldn’t decide which of my stepped up versions was more involved than the other, so I am just adding them in the order I made them. This card makes the most of the philanthropic paper in this year’s Mini, Walk in the Forest. For every pack of paper sold Stampin’ Up! will donate £2.50/€3.00 to organisations dedicated to spreading cheer and providing help to those in need. In the UK the money is going to the Salvation Army, such a great cause.
All the prettiness on this card is made from just the paper (other than the sentiment, pearls etc). I simply punched the bear and die cut the tree from the paper. Such a quick and easy card to put together, assuming you have the tools to do so!
Second Stepped Up Version
For my second stepped up version I decided to make a really simple fun fold card. This is a truly simple fold, but really makes a difference to the finished card and your non crafting friends will think you are amazing! I started with half a sheet of card, cut long and thin, and simply creased the card so I ended up with one long fold and one short. If you start with the long fold, you can simply close the first fold and measure from there to the other edge of the card, divide that measurement in half and score there. Done.
I stamped and die cut the tree (using gold embossing powder for the second layer of stamping). Using the A and B sides of a piece of paper, I added these and then trimmed them to size before adding a piece of ribbon with Tear & Tape across the whole card front before cutting it at the opening. The punched bear was layered onto a punched Basic White piece and this and the tree were added with Dimensionals. A quick sentiment and I was done!
So, why and I posting this later than usual? Well I am actually looking at some of the information I get from YouTube, in particular, about when most of my followers actually engage with my content. Guess what! 8 in the morning is about the worst time I could post, so I am changing and will now be posting later in the day. It would be great if you could let me know when you generally engage with my content. Let me have the Time (and Time Zone) so I can have a look at when you like to see stuff from me.
