Craft & Chat Live REPLY -Translucent Florals Stampin’ Up! Did you catch today’s YouTube Live? It was slightly interesting because, although I am pretty much over my Jet-lag, apparently my crafting brain is still somewhere over the Atlantic. That said, somehow we managed to get three cards made, all very individual and I think people would be surprised that you can make three very different cards using the same basic product.

I started by using a very soft palette of Bubble Bath and Soft Seafoam. The stamped images need to be handled really quite carefully so they are not too inked at the outline. It is best to use an ink pad that needs to reinked, or, if you ink pad is ‘juicy’, push the ink back into the pad using the rounded back of a spoon, or a, in my case, a very old plastic Bone Folder, either of which can be cleaned with  Baby Wipe that is Biodegradable.

I wanted a ‘dividing line’ across the card to help with grounding the images, so used some of the Herringbone Ribbon. For some added ‘something’, I used the white sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio in the current Annual Catalogue.

For my second project I wanted to change the palette, so went with Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. I stamped the images again and added these to Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist layers and paper. For both the stamped cards I cut my patterned paper at 3″ so I knew I could introduce further versions of this layout for other projects.

Again, I used the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio to help bring the focal point into focus. The pink ones are meant to be Berry Burst, but they seem to be much paler than that I would have expected, but for this project they are perfect.

My final card used just die cut images (and a stamped and embossed sentiment). I selected Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green. My memory tells me that at that time we thought that both colours were REALLY bright….then we were introduced to Polished Pink (now retired) and Parakeet Party!

I wanted lots of contrast for this project and think that the Basic Black card base and layer achieved this, letting the flowers and leaves really ‘pop’. Of course.
