#SimpleStamping Saturday It’s In the Stars from Stampin’ Up! It’s time for another #SimpleStampingSaturday! This week, we’re using the It’s In the Stars stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create a selection of simple and elegant cards.

The It’s In the Stars stamp set is a beautiful background stamp with lots of constellations. It’s perfect for creating cards, tags, and other projects with a celestial theme.

#SimpleStamping Version

For our first project I used a Basic White Note Card & Envelope, the It’s In The Stars background stamp and a sentiment. I chose one from the Reach For the Stars Stamp Set, because it was so appropriate. But you could use any sentiment you already have. I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sorbet Ink and then added a mask (using our Masking Paper) cut so it was JUST small enough to cover the sentiment. If you don’t have Masking Paper, you could use a sticky note.

For the stars, I used Starry Sky ink, which seemed to be asking to be used for this set. The ‘trick’ to only stamping on the front of the card is either to add sticky notes as a barrier between the front and the back, or simply line up the edge of the stamp with the crease in the Note Card.

Remove the mask and you are done. Repeat the stamping for the flap of the envelope and you have a really pretty card to send to a friend.

Stepped Up Version

My first stepped up version swaps the Basic White Note Card and Starry Sky ink for Starry Sky card and white heat embossing. To add some ‘bling’ I decided to highlight some of the stars by adding a few Basic Rhinestones. To bring focus to the sentiment I added some of the White Organza Glittered Ribbon, it is subtle enough not to over power the card, but does help to bring the eye to the sentiment.

Further Stepped Up Version

The next version is exactly the same as the previous version, other than the addition of the Holographic Foil from the Trio pack. Just that little touch makes a real difference to the final card.
