#SimpleStamping Saturday – Timeless Arrangements. This week’s projects are inspired by the card I received in the box of Pillow Gifts I received from Stampin’ Up! ahead of the Incentive Trip to Norway. I do need to add that fewer than 1% of Demonstrators earn the Incentive Trip and that it is not typical for Demonstrators to do so. OK, so the Compliance bit is over, let’s look at the cards.
#SimpleStamping Version
As ever, my #SimpleStamping card is made using one of our wonderful Basic White Note Cards and Envelopes. I stamped the sentiment and images in Starry Sky Ink and then added colour using the first set of Watercolor Pencils. To give a more even finish, I used a Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter. These work so well with our Watercolor Pencils without pilling the paper or bleeding through the card.
Stepped Up Version
My first stepped up version introduces Sweet Sorbet card for the base and layer. I punched a 2-3/8″ circle from Basic White card before stamping the images and then colouring with Stampin’ Blends (Dark Sweet Sorbet and Daffodil Delight, but Light Starry Sky). This was then layered onto a gold foil piece punched using the Happy Labels Pick a Punch.
Further Stepped Up Version
My final card is very similar to the original (which you can see in the video) , but I replaced the Linen Thread with Baker’s Twine. Because I was using the Cut & Emboss anyway, I decided to replace the punch with the Stylish Shapes Dies, giving that wonderful stitched finish. I love the effect the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder gives to the layer behind the stamped element. It is subtle, yet evident, just perfect.
