Back to #SimpleStamping Saturday and today’s projects celebrating World Bee Day. I pulled the Queen Bee stamp set, which carried over to the new Annual Catalogue, although the matching dies did not! My #SimpleStamping card uses just a Basic White Note Card, Tuxedo Black ink, some watercolour pencils and the Color Lifter to move the pigment around.
Using the Color Lifter to move the pigment around is such an easy way to get some truly stunning colouring, especially as you can get the gentle fade towards the tip of the flowers that I was hopping for with this card.
Stepped Up Version
My first stepped up version introduces heat embossing on vellum and creating our own background pattern. I chose to change the colour scheme quite dramatically, selecting Soft Sea Foam and Lemon Lolly. These colours work surprisingly well together, adding some ribbon and sequins finishes the card off well.
Further Stepped Up Version
For this card I went all out (although I also made a rooky mistake – can you spot it?) I had wanted to use this fun fold for a while, so this seemed the perfect time to do so. I will be showing you how to make this fold next week, so stick around!
I repeated all the elements from the previous version of this card, but simply turned it into a fancier version. Happily the card will still fold up into a standard C6 envelope.
The largest of the Stylish Shapes square dies fitted perfectly into the centre of the card, and was a very happy accident, rather than planned.
