#SimpleStamping Saturday featuring Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends. I couldn’t resist using this Bundle again, I had so much fun with it on Tuesday.
#SimpleStamping Version
My first version, as usual, uses a Note Card and Envelope and I simply stamped the nest image in Soft Suede Ink and then used a Blender Pen to move the ink around to get the texture on the nest.
For the leaves and berries I used Old Olive and Real Red, picking the ink up with the Blender Pen. I added the sentiment in Real Red too, this helps to bring the image and the sentiment together. The envelope is again, Soft Suede with the ink blended with a Blender Pen.
Stepped Up Version
For my first stepped up version I added coloured card and more of that lovely Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. I continued to use the Soft Suede ink to stamp my images. Our Classic Ink is water based, so I could use Stampin’ Blends with it, although Memento is slightly better, for these images a little movement of the ink was not going to be a problem.
I finished the card with some Bushed Metallic Dots and heat embossed the sentiment in Gold on Early Espresso. Oh, and I used the same colours in Blends as I used in the first card.
Further Stepped Up Version
My last card is a fold back card with a partial cut aperture and a double cut die cut piece. I used both the Stylish Shapes and the Nested Friends Dies to get the edge of the nest shaped. It is quite a simple technique once you get the hang of it. How to do this is something I will cover this when I do a couple of ‘how to stretch your dies’ videos soon.
I repeated the Brushed Metallic Dots and patterned paper as on the previous card. I would put my ‘liner’ on the back of this card so it didn’t distract from the decoration on the front.
