Craft & Chat Live REPLAY with Liz – Stampin’ Up! Best Day and Easy Background Techniques. Did you join me earlier today for my regular Tuesday Live Video?
I was sharing some easy background ideas, which I then use with the Best Day stamp set. I used Shimmery White card for all of the techniques, its smooth finish and water resistance makes it perfect for these cards. So Cute!!
First up was a simple technique using wet card and then adding ink with the broad water painter. This is a really easy way to get a custom background.
I added a fussy cut image from Best Day, which I coloured with the same/similar colour Blends and then simply added a few Glossy Dots around the image. Layered on Highland Heather Mat and a Coastal Cabana Card Base.
The second background was also really easy. I added some ink to a piece of acetate and then sprayed it with water before layering a piece of card on top. I used a technique I had seen Kylie from Hello Crafter use on Instagram. She added some watered down Multi Purpose Liquid Glue in splatters across the background, let it to dry, and then added some Gilded Flakes for a really subtle effect.
I used the same stamp set as before and added a piece of Coastal Cabana Twine towards the bottom of the layers. I stamped a sentiment, which I cut into pieces and added to the card, with some more Glossy Dots.
The final background started with a piece of card, spritzed with water, and then I added ink using bubble wrap to get the random dots. As I didn’t have time to finish the card during my Live, I have since finished it.
I used the same technique with the Gilding Flakes before adding the Catcake and sentiment. I like all three of these cards and hope you do to0.
