#SimpleStamping Saturday Featuring Cheerful Basket. Welcome to another Saturday and my usual three versions of the same project. Today I am featuring the Cheerful Basket Bundle. I bought this for the cute kitten, which I have yet to ink up!
#SimpleStamping Version
I chose to featuring a bucket of ripe apples for today’s projects. I used just 4 ink pads and a Blender Pen to get this result. All stamped on a White Note Card and Envelope. The bucket and sentiment are both stamped in Soft Suede, while the apples are stamped in Tuxedo Black, expect on the envelope, where they are in Poppy Parade. Oh, and remember that as this set is in Photopolymer, lining up the images is really easy.
The joy with colouring the bucket is that, being wood, you don’t need it to be perfect. In fact if it were perfect it would probably feel ‘wrong’. The same goes for the apples to a degree; apples are just not perfect, especially if they are home grown (the best apples, obviously!) The only thing to remember is to NOT go over the same are of the card with the Blender Pen too much or you will break down the paper, which is not a good look!
Stepped Up Version
For my first stepped up version I changed ink pads and a Blender Pen for Stampin’ Blends. I used Crumb Cake for the bucket, which I think was a mistake and Soft Suede would have been better. I don’t even know why I thought Crumb Cake would be better for this version, I used Soft Suede for both of the others!
I added a reflection on each of the apples simply by leaving a small area uncoloured and using the Light Poppy Parade around that white area. Obviously you can see that I used the dies for this version, but the Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper, from the Brights 6 x 6″ pack, and the Crumb Cake layer are simply cut to size. A few Elegant Faceted Gems finish the card off nicely.
Further Stepped Up Version
For my next version I added more die cutting, introducing the Deckled Rectangles for the sentiment and layers. You can probably spot that I swapped a stamped bucket for one of the die cut versions. This is cut in Soft Suede (so I come back to ‘why did I choose Crumb Cake for the previous version?’), and I inlaid Early Espresso pieces before rubbing the whole bucket very gently with some White Craft ink.
The Apples are coloured in the same way as the previous version, but this time I added a layer of Fine Tipped Glue to them to add some shine. Sadly I have failed to capture this in the pictures, but you can see it clearly in the video, so do take a look. BUT, the unintended consequence of this was that the Poppy Parade has reacted with the glue and the colour is now much brighter.
What do you think? Do you like them? Do let me know which one is your favourite, I would love to know. Take a look at the video for a better look at all three versions.
