Crafting LIVE REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Wisteria Wishes. I had such fun making these two projects. Neither of them took very long to make, but, I hope you agree, they are both stunning in their simplicity.
For my first project I started by using the Cloud Embossing Folder with some Vellum. I wanted to soften the background a little, and this is always a great way to do just that. You will see that I used Vellum on the next project too, but in a slightly different way.
This project was always going to be a really simple card using the stamps for wisteria. I chose Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis as my inks for the flowers, although I used the Orchid Oasis as a second generation ink, having stamped off first. The green is Granny Apple Green, which is a good bright ‘solid’ colour. The finishing touches were some Fresh Freesia ribbon and the amazing Iridescent Pearls.
My second project uses the upright stems, again in Granny Apple Green, but this time I wanted to make a flower that was closer to Lupins or Red Hot Pokers. For the flowers, I started by adding some Mango Melody to the floral stamp (from what was a VERY dry ink pad!) and then, with a sponge dauber, I added some Sweet Sorbet ink to the top and bottom of the stamps, less at the bottom than the top.
I layered the stamped image onto a piece of Vellum and then onto a Sweet Sorbet Card Base. I finished the card by adding a sentiment strip, stamped in Sweet Sorbet, and then added some of the Matte InColor Dots. Vellum is such a useful product, you can use it in so many ways, and I especially love that adding it as a layer softens the colour it is over, adding an ethereal quality.
