Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Awash In Beauty and so much MORE!! Yesterday afternoon I treated myself to crafting with a couple of my favourite new products during my regular YouTube Live. You can watch the replay of that by clicking on the Video Tutorial below, but first let’s have a closer look at what I made.
Awash In Beauty
It is wonderful that a piece of patterned paper can do all the work for you, and the Awash In Beauty paper is one of those. I simply cut a 3″ strip and added some narrow edging in Balmy Blue before wrapping some Polished Pink Ribbon around it and adding it to the front of my card base, also in Polished Pink.
I selected a sentiment from the True Beauty stamp set and added this to the top of the paper in Polished Pink ink, making sure I avoided the edges of the Balmy Blue card that were under the paper. Happily I managed to stamp the sentiment straight!
The finishing touches were to add a short piece of the same ribbon so it looked like I had tied two ends together. Then I added the new Iridescent Pearls, which are STUNNING in person. So, a quick and easy card to start the Live off with. Oh, and we discovered a little bonus with one of the patterns of paper, but you will need to watch the video to see what that is!
Rays of Light and Good Feelings
My second card is one that I had designed in my head, but had not even done a sketch for, so it was going to be interesting to see if it worked the way I expected it to. Happily I think it did.
I was thrilled to see the Rays of Light stamp in the catalogue, I have been wanting a stamp like this for a VERY long time. I particularly like that it is a very forgiving stamp, because the rays are not actually meant to be solid. This means that any slight imperfections will be easy to hide.
I started by stamping and heat embossing the large sentiment from the Good Feelings Stamp Set. To make sure that the sentiment would really ‘pop’, I chose White Embossing powder on Basic White card. This meant that once I had added the Mango Melody ink with a Blending Brush the white would stand out well. The sentiment is die cute using one of the Scalloped Contour dies, making the layer smaller than the die with a bit of manipulation – you can see how I did this in the video.
I layered the Rays of Light onto a piece of Mango Melody card and then added the die cut with Dimensionals. I wanted something to add a subtle shine in my favourite triangle and, after looking at a few Embellishments, added some of the new 2021-2023 InColor Opal Rounds. The perfect addition to this card, I hope you agree.
