Crafting LIVE REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Paradise Palms. Well That was annoying!! If anyone has been trying to find the YouTube video for these cards, you will have been struggling. I woke up last Friday to an email from YouTube telling me that the video had been ‘Locked as Private’ for a breech of their ‘Spam, Deceptive Practices and Scams Policies’.
Having worked in Compliance and Financial Crime Prevention, I was shocked that a video showing how to make a greetings card would be impacted by this. I emailed immediately to find out what the problem was. FYI – you can hear more about my past life during the video that goes with this post!!
Long story short, this was an IT glitch at YouTube. It took them until yesterday to work out what the problem was and to ‘Unlock’ all the videos hit by this. Finally I can share my cards with you!!
I had decided to make the cards using the Paradise Palms Stamp Set because I was meant to be on the Incentive Trip last week. This would have been a Cruise in the Caribbean, so I thought the Paradise Palms set was appropriate.
I made two cards, both using ink blending for the focal point. The first was my interpretation of a sunset, using Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky, Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya for the blending. The island was stamped in Soft Suede with Early Espresso for the trees and sentiment.
The second card is meant to be a daytime version of the same card. I used Balmy Blue for most of the sky, with some Orchid Oasis towards the top and bottom of the circle. The island is in my least favourite green, Pear Pizzazz. The trees were stamped in Early Espresso again, with the sentiment in Orchid Oasis.
Both of the cards use papers from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper for the first layer so that they were not ‘flat’ colours (in the video I say it is Abstract Beauty paper – I was WRONG!). I finished both cards with a few dots, the sunset card uses the new 2021-23 InColor Opal Rounds and the daytime card uses the, soon to retire, Polished Dots.
