Crafting LIVE REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Fresh Cut Flowers. I had such fun earlier this week playing with Fresh Cut Flowers and Heat Embossing on Vellum. This is a great way to add a soft layer with some added colour. Both of the patterned papers I used were B Sides from the Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper.
My first card uses Petal Pink as its main colour. I chose to heat emboss in Gold, I love how this blends so well with Petal Pink. They are both soft colours, rather than harsh.
Adding Stampin’ Blends to the reverse of vellum is such an easy way to add colour, but you do need to make an allowance for the vellum. With this in mind, I used Calypso Coral for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves. In today’s video I show you why I chose these colours, so remember to take a look at that.
Heat embossing also makes it a lot easier to find somewhere to hide your adhesive because you have solid lines and the centres of the flowers to hide your adhesive behind. Of course I had to add an Embellishment, so before they retire forever, I added some more of these really pretty Polished Dots.
My second card uses the same technique, but this time with White Embossing Powder and different shaped layers for a change. There is also the added technique of stamping onto the card base in second generation ink, using the same colour of ink as the card base; in this case Fresh Freesia.
This background stamping is a great way of adding extra texture without having lots of supplies in your stash. Simply having inks that match your cardstock gives you so many additional possibilities.
I finished this card by adding some ribbon towards the bottom of my mats and popping the central piece up on Dimensionals. This time I used some of the new 2021-23 InColor Opal Rounds, which are STUNNING! I have selected these Opal Rounds as my customer gift this month, so if you want to get your hands on a set, simply place a qualifying order in my Online store (see the details below).
