Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Waves of the Ocean Collection. Did you catch me live yesterday? I think there were more people than I have ever had join me Live. I started by CASEing a card I spotted on Instagram that the amazing Lou Kitzelman had shared (you can see it HERE). At the time I thought I had made a pretty accurate twin of hers, but actually it is quite different.
I started by embossing some Basic White card with the Bark 3D embossing folder (retiring and no longer available in Europe!) and then took a couple of slices from it before adding a piece of the amazing Designer Series Paper between the 2.
To finish up, I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point on one of the die cuts and added that to the front of the card with some of the beautiful Frayed Ribbon. Then the pelican, coloured with Crumb Cake and Gray Granite Stampin’ Write markers and die cut. Not forgetting a few of the beautiful Rhinestone Waves to finish off.
Next up was this very simple card, using more of the stunning paper (only available until 2nd May, while stocks last!) and a few die cuts. I mean this is truly quick to put together.
The wave die-cut uses the Coastal Cabana Foil from the Blue Foils pack, with some Adhesive Sheet on the back to make it quick and easy to attach on top of the paper. Quick Tip – place your paper into the top left corner of your Stampin’ Up! Trimmer and then lay the die cut on top, it makes it really easy to line them up.
The cloud die-cuts have been coloured in Smoky Slate, using a Blending Brush through the die so you get these great shadows. A sentiment strip finishes off the card, which has a Basic White mat and a Coastal Cabana base.
The final card was by way of introducing the new Masking Paper that will be available from 3rd May. I don’t have any of ours yet, but wanted to show you just how versatile it is. I simply lay some 1/2″ strips across the card to form a sunburst.
Using Blending Brushes again, I added Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight ink to the card (using colours from the paper pack). After I pulled away the Masking Paper I revealed the sun burst. To get rid of the hard edges, I trimmed 1/8″ from all four sides before layering up on some of the patterned paper (I should have used one of the blues for the smaller layer!).
To finish up I added the sentiment and some birds in Night of Navy (to match the card base) and wrapped the sentiment around the card using some of the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon. Of course a few more of those Rhinestones had to be added!
