Top Tip Tuesday on Wednesday – Featuring Cactus Cuties. Let’s just say that yesterday was an especially challenging day and that I.T. was not my friend. With that in mind, I am bringing you a Top Tip today, as well as a project, so this is a two for one!
The Cactus Cuties stamp set is one of our photopolymer sets, which are always amazing value, but do have a couple of challenges to think about when using them. Firstly, and most importantly, you need to be aware that the manufacturing process requires a non-stick coating to be added to the mould before pouring the liquid photopolymer into it. This coating means that the stamps will release from the mould easily, but it could be left on the surface of the stamp.
The non-stick coating will often resist ink, which means it will not sit evenly on the surface of the stamp. In order to get passed this, you need to do something to either remove the coating, or give the surface of the stamp a ‘key’. I find the easiest way to do both of these is to rub the new stamp with either the palm of my hand, or use a good quality white eraser over the surface. Either of these will work well, as you will see in the video today.
As an alternative, you can simply ink up and stamp on scrap paper, cleaning between each inking. This will also remove the film, but does take a little longer than the other method. But, never mind about that. Do you like the card I made using the Cactus Cuties Bundle? Quick and easy, just as I like it!
