#SimpleStamping Saturday Featuring Friendly Hello Sale-a-Bration Bundle. Welcome to the weekend and another #SimpleStamping Saturday. Today I am using the wonderful FREE Stamp and Paper Bundle from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue, Friendly Hello. Because it is Saturday, I have three versions of my project to share with you today.
#SimpleStamping Version
I love the colour palette for the paper in this bundle and decided to select just one of them for my project. Pool Party is a lovely soft blue/green/aqua dark enough to use for sentiments, but not so dark as to be overpowering. So, it was not a hard colour choice, especially as there is a patterned paper in the Bundle with just Pool Party and White.
I stamped both the bird image and sentiment on the card before cutting a strip of the patterned paper to fill the gap between the two.
I added this, trimming it to size with my Snips, and the card was complete. BUT this is #SimpleStamping Saturday, so I also stamped one of the small florals onto the bottom left of the envelope. And my project was complete and I was ready to step it up for my next version.
Stepped Up Version 1
For this version I pulled some Pool Party card for the base and some Basic White to stamp on. I repeated the stamping from the first card, but on ‘scraps’ of Basic White.
I trimmed the strips to fit portions of the Label Me Lovely punch. I punched each end separately, stretching the length of the punched image. Come back on Tuesday to see exactly how I do this. It is a great way of getting more from your label punches.
I repeated the ‘stretching’ with some of the Petal Pink paper from the pack, which I also used behind my Pool Party layer. A length of the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and some Polished Dots completed this version of my card.
Stepped Up Version 2
For my final version I decided to make a Gate-fold card, adding the areas of stamping to opposite sides for added interest. The stamped areas and their mats are die cut with one of the shapes in the Hippo & Friends Die pack. This is a great set of dies whether you have the stamp set or not. You get 3 different shapes of labels with stitching or embossing around the edges.
I couldn’t add the ribbon across the whole of the card front on this Gate Fold, so I used one of the ribbon slit dies in the Die Set and added a piece of the same ribbon to the side, tied with a length of the silver Elegant Trim.
And there you have it. My finished gate fold card, a few Polished Dots were the perfect final addition. I hope you enjoyed these projects.
