Flowering Rain Boots Bundle with Stamp ‘n Hop. I am always surprised when the start of the month seems to be full of Blog Hop Posts. I am not sure why it is that most Blog Hop organisers seem to think that the start of a month is such a good idea to go live, but here I am again with another one. If you are following along, you will have joined me from the lovely Gez Carpenter.
This time I am hopping with the Stamp ‘n Hop Team and sharing a project made with my favourite Bundle from the Mini Catalogue. For me that is the Flowering Rain Boots Bundle on page 30 of the new Mini Catalogue.
I like all of the images in this set, but what really caught my eye when I was looking through the catalogue was the image of the Wellington Boots. Living on an unmade track in a small village, our ‘road’ is often quite wet and muddy, so a good pair of Wellington boots is a MUST. Many the times I have walked to a meeting, Church etc, wearing boots and carrying a more elegant pair of footwear to change into at my destination. Using old boots as flower pots is also quiet common around the village, often after the boots have been painted so they are really cheerful.
As tulips are beginning to come into the shops now, I thought some yellow ones in my red Wellies, would look good on my card. I used lots of tulips for an arrangement I made for the Parish Church last weekend. It was my turn to provide flowers for the Memorial Chapel, so I went with a loose arrangement with a mix of twigs, tulips and catkins. Perfect for early spring.
The images are all simply stamped and die cut, with the sentiment stamped in Early Espresso and die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles. The background was a bit of a leap of faith for me, but actually really easy to do. I used some of our smooth Basic White and an ‘almost’ dry Water Painter to add sweeps of Balmy Blue and Sahara Sand to it. The key is to not have too much ink or too much water or the paper will breakdown. Just have the courage of your convictions!
