Brave Vikings Fun Sunshine and Rainbow Card. I think a few people were surprised that I added this stamp set to my first order from the new Mini Catalogue, but I love it. I think it might have something to do with a family story (which I think is made up!) that we came over to Britain as Vikings. There is a little bit of logic, in that our surname is similar in sound to the Danish and Norwegian surnames Juhl. Who knows! Whether there is a connection or not, the story has always given me an interest in the Vikings.
For my background, I chose one of the more subtle papers from the Sunshine & Rainbow Sale-a-Bration but still wanted to emphasise the rainbow. I decided to add Stampin Blends in bands to a piece of Basic White Card, before running it through the Splatters embossing folder from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders. I then cut this into strips to make up my rainbow, off-setting them in a random pattern.
The image is stamped in Tuxedo Black and then coloured with light tones, to contrast the brightness of the rainbow strips, before die-cutting with the Layering Circles and adding to a Balmy Blue scalloped Circle. A simple Birthday sentiment added with dimensionals finishes the card off. A perfect Birthday card for any fun loving person.

Having done an Ancestry DNA test I was amazed to find, alongside the expected English, Scottish and Irish origins, a considerable input from Scandinavia so I’ve been looking for a horned helmet ever since!! 😂 If you’re curious about the origins of Yuille give it a go, Liz… you may get a surprise too!!
