YouTube Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Rainbow of Happiness. Wow, we had fun during yesterday’s YouTube Live. I was showcasing the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle with 3 very different cards (which of course means I have a long shopping list – sorry!)
My first card was the Slim Line card. I used the Rainbow Glimmer Paper to cut the Rainbow, selecting the area by colour. These pieces were then inlaid into the black layer, which I had die cut with the same die.
I repeated the inlay technique for the ‘amazing’, this time using the Supple Shimmer papers from the new Mini Catalogue, replacing the black pieces for the letters with loops.
The finishing touch was to add some clusters of the 2021-2023 InColor Jewels to the layer. This was a real revelation to me. I am loving how stunning the gems are on a dark background. Time to get some more I think!!
My second card was totally different in style to the first. This time I selected softer tones and die cut the pieces having backed the card with Adhesive foam sheet. I used Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, So Saffron and Calypso Coral for the rainbow and placed them all on an Early Espresso mat.
To break up the Early Espresso and add a little ‘extra’ touch to the card, I added the sentiment and hearts with gold embossing. This also meant that I could add the Fine Art Ribbon beneath the rainbow so it was a little more ‘grounded’.
Placing all the pieces onto a Thick Very Vanilla card base keeps the softness of the project and brings all the softer tones together.
Because I had finished the two initial cards so quickly, I added a ‘bonus’ card to the event. This time I used the stamps without any of the dies.
My rainbow is Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point, all colours in the Brights family. I wanted to add the bowed sentiment, but was concerned that it would be difficult to see on top of the stamping. So, Black Heat Embossing was the answer. The only ‘issues’ to be aware of are that the stamping is dry before you add the Versamark and that you make sure you have no stray embossing powder. I highly recommend a soft paint brush for the latter and your heat gun for the former.
The final additions were some Balmy Blue rain drops, a length of ribbon and some Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials. All on a Pacific Point card base, this makes a bright and cheerful card for anyone.
