#SimpleStamping Saturday Featuring Tulip Fields. I am sorry #SimpleStamping Saturday has been missing in action for a few weeks, but I hope you have enjoyed what I shared with you. We are back on track again and life is getting back to normal after the Christmas and New Year break.

#SimpleStamping Version

Today I am sharing some cards made using the Tulip Fields stamp set in a slightly different way. I am also showing a technique that I think ALL stampers should master, especially new stampers. Generation Stamping is a way to make the very most of your inks. By learning this technique you can get more than one shade of colour from all of your inks.

For me #SimpleStamping card I only used one ink pad, Bermuda Bay, but I have got 3 shades out of it, simply by using the Generation Stamping Technique. Basically all you need to do is stamp your first image, then, using the ink that is left on your stamp, stamp another image. With the darker colours, such as Bermuda Bay, you should be able to get three shades from one inking.

In today’s video I show the same technique using Gorgeous Grape. As you can see, I added the sentiment, from Sharing Sunshine, over the third generation of ink, using full strength ink. To ensure that the centre of the points is neat, I added an Iridescent Rhinestone. So this card uses just 2 stamp sets, 1 ink pad, a Notecard and envelope (you can see that I stamped the envelope too) and a pack of Rhinestones. First Stepped Up Version

For my first alternative version I introduced 2 additional Ink Pads, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party, rather than using the Generation Technique, although you could still use it. I simply stamped four of each colours of the triangle image and then cut them out with my Snips. I added Dimensionals to the back and added them to the front of a Basic Black layer before trimming the edges. Again, I added the sentiment to the lightest pieces. I also added an Iridescent Rhinestone to the centre point. To finish the card I added a layer of Bermuda Bay and a Basic Black card base.

Further Stepped Up Version

For my final version of the project, I introduced the Stitched Triangle Dies. These have a slightly wider angel at the point, but the card still works, just with 2 fewer triangles. Because I had 2 fewer Pool Party pieces, I simply stamped the sentiment on the 2 I have, which works well too, although I did like the ‘Thank Yous’ taking on the appearance of windmill sales.

I would love you to let me know which of these is your favourite. Please let me know if you use the Generation Technique too, I think it is one of those techniques we know exists, but we forget to use.
