Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Catching Butterflies. Did you catch my LIVE on YouTube earlier today? I was using the Catching Butterflies FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set. It is just soooo cute.
I made two cards, one was fairly straightforward (although I did show you how to do partial die cutting) and the other was a slightly stepped up version with a very simple Fancy Fold.
My first card used the Stitched Rectangle Dies for the main layer, with the top of the butterfly net off the top. In the video (link below) I show you how to do this. The paper is another FREE Sale-a-Bration item, the Sunshine & Rainbow Designer Series Paper.
For a bit of fun, I cut up my sentiment into individual word strips. before adding them to the side of the stamped layer, hanging over the edge a little. I also added some Wink of Stella to the top of the butterfly net and some narrow ribbon to the side.
For my second version of the card I used a long, thin card base and cut a section of the front away to reveal some patterned paper on the inside of the card. The rest of the card was put together in a very similar way to the first card, but cutting down the sizes of the layers for the front of the card.
The sentiment was meant to be stamped straight onto the die cut layer (this time using the Stitched So Sweetly dies), but I seemed to fail on the ‘straight’ bit of that, so stamped it again on a scrap, before punching it our and covering the original. There is always a way to sort these sorts of thing out, but please keep my secret!
