YouTube Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Peaceful Place & Painted Christmas Paper. I had initially planned that my YouTube Live would concentrate on the wonderful Peaceful Place Paper, with a few ideas already starting to go in my head. And indeed I did make on of my planned cards.
This is a favourite design for me, using just 3×6″ of paper for each, so great for getting lots of cards from a small amount of paper, and so quick to put together.
For this, first card I cut a couple of strips of the Black Glitter Paper, backed with a strip of Tear & Tape and added these underneath the patterned paper. I made sure that the whole arrangement was NOT in the centre of the card. For me something that is just slightly not in the centre is very jarring, so off-setting is a perfect way to avoid this. A quick sentiment and some Basic Rhinestones finish this off.
Because the Peaceful Place paper is no longer available in Europe, I switched to the Painted Christmas, which I know will be back next year as a ‘Returning Favourite’. This first version is on Evening Evergreen Card, with Gold Foil either side.
I added another heat embossed sentiment and some Brushed Metallic Dots for a final finish. Heat embossing onto a scrap of Evening Evergreen means that this particular sentiment has a ready made mat too!
My final card used another pattern from the Painted Christmas paper, but this time I used the ‘B side’ for the strips either side of the main strip. I used a Crumb Cake card base, picking out one of the shades of brown from the pattern I chose.
This time the sentiment is in Real Red, on Basic White, with some Red Rhinestones for the finishing touch. What do you think? I love that you can get a full 8 cards from one piece of 12 x 12″ paper, or 2 from a piece of 6 x 6″ paper. This design is a great way to stretch your favourite paper over a lot of cards!
