YouTube Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – Featuring Peaceful Cabin and Cabin Dies. I was asked a couple of days ago if I would demonstrate how I made the background for the most stepped up version of the #SimpleStamping Saturday cards. Well, what can I say other than, of course I am very happy to show you how I did this.
I changed the card design, but, other than changing the orientation from portrait to landscape, the method of creating the background is basically the same. I used So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Magenta Madness and Night of Navy inks and Blending Brushes to create the background.
Once the background was as I wanted it, I splashed some water on it by tapping a Water Painter against my bone folder. This produced some great small dots of water, which ‘bleached’ the background. I also added a few splashes of Clear Wink of Stella for some added sparkle.
The foreground was created using the Cabin Dies and a Chalk Marker Pen, with, of course, so more Clear Wink of Stella! I love the final effect, but I also wanted the inside to be special, so I added a stamped tree and a little fox, using Evening Evergreen and Crumb Cake respectively.
These little touches can make all the difference to the final project, and these are certainly the perfect finish for this one.
