YouTube Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – Featuring the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle. Welcome to another Replay of my YouTube Live Crafting Sessions. I hold these twice a week (Tuesday at 11am and Thursday at 3pm UK Time) over on my YouTube Channel If you happen to be around, why not join me LIVE, otherwise you can watch back at your leisure.
This week I have been inspired by the onset of Autumn in the UK and a project that I spotted made by Maheswari Rajaguru, an amazingly talented Stampin’ Up! Demo in Australia. Her original project can be seen HERE I love how she has layered up the leaves to make a focal point for her project; simply stunning.
For my two projects I have used the Alcohol Vellum technique that is so popular at the moment. I took a half sheet of Vellum and used the Dark shades of Cinnamon Cider, Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow, then moved the colour around with 99% alcohol. You can see exactly how I did this in today’s video.
My first project used the Vellum as a layer, but was otherwise a really simple card, stamping the ‘beech’ leaf four times, once each in Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee. I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around this layer before tying it in a bow and adding a simple stamped sentiment.
I added a layer of Bumblebee between the Vellum and the Cinnamon Cider card base to give the vellum a slightly different tone, while still tying in with the colours of the leaves. Of course adding a few Brushed Metallic Dots are never a problem in my book.
My second card was the nearest to Maheswari’s original, using the cluster of leaves as my focal point. These were made up of three large maple/sycamore leaves, one each in Brushed Metallic Foil, Linen Specialty paper and Basic White. The top layer is the small maple/sycamore leaf coloured with Cinnamon Cider, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers, before spritzing with water and stampin onto Basic White card. The final effect is simply stunning, I hope you agree.
This time I added the Vellum to a layer of Basic White before adding it to the card base, Cinnamon Cider again. Before adding the leaves, I layered them up and spritzed them with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker for some added texture. The adhesive to stick the Vellum to the Basic White is hidden behind the leaves, sentiment and Brushed Metallic Dots.
The sentiments I used came from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set. I hope you enjoyed today’s projects and will take a look at how they were made. Remember to ‘like and ‘subscribe’ while you are watching the video tutorial, this really helps my channel reach even more crafters.
