As ever, my #SimpleStamping Saturday projects are the same basic design, starting with a clean and simple card, then stepping it up a couple of times to show how as you progress as a paper crafter, you can add extra product and techniques. OR if you are looking for a quick and simple idea, then what better than the first card!
#SimpleStamping Version
My #SimpleStamping cards always use one of our wonderful Notecards and Envelopes. This week, as I am looking at an Autumn/Fall feel, I chose to use Very Vanilla for a change. I stamped my image with Early Espresso Classic Ink to help with that warm, Autumn feel. I coloured the image with our Watercolour Pencils, using both Assortments to show you the difference.
To see the other version, using the original Assortment of colours, why not take a look at the video tutorial, where I use these. Can I just say again how cute this set is? I mean look at the fun that young person and cat are having in the pile of leaves!
First Stepped Up Version
For my first stepped up version I added coloured card and Designer Series Paper (the Blackberry Beauty Specialty Paper) as well as some ribbon and Brushed Metallic Dots.
I love the InColor Ribbon for this year, the colours are true to the colour, but they work brilliantly on other colours too. For this card I used the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon, but it picks up on the faded Cinnamon Cider in the paper perfectly.
Further Stepped Up Version
This card may not look that different to the previous version, but rather than cutting the layers with my trimmer, I used the Stitched Rectangles dies. In the video I explain how I got the different sizes from the original rectangles. It is not a difficult technique, just a little bit of a fiddle.
I replaced the Brushed Metallic Dots with some die cuts from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack. For both the stepped up versions I replaced the Watercolour Pencils with Stampin’ Blends. I love both colouring options, but I think my favourite has to be Blends for their seamless transition of colour. Which is your favourite colouring medium?
