#SimpleStamping Saturday – Introducing Eden’s Garden. I am thrilled to share this new Suite of products with you. It will be available to customers from 2nd November until early January 2022. The stamp set and dies will be available in the new Mini Catalogue, launching in early January, but the other items are ONLY AVAILABLE until early January, if stocks last!
As ever, my first project uses one of our Notecards and Envelopes, this week in Basic White. As the paper only has Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen in it, the colour choice was easy. I stamped the foliage in Soft Succulent and the sentiments in Evening Evergreen. BUT there are a couple of things to bear in mind when using a Distinctive Stamp, such as the ones in this set.
First, you don’t want too much ink on your ink pad, ideally you need to use an ink pad that needs to be re-inked, but if that is not possible, there are some ways around this.
In today’s video tutorial I show you how to push the ink away from the top and middle of the ink pad. This is really simple, so it is well worth taking a look.
Stepped Up Version
For my first stepped up version I have added the Designer Series Paper, coloured card and some dies I would always include in my stash.
I covered the front of the card with one of the B sides of the paper. This is a great ‘solid’, in fact ALL the ‘B’ sides are great solids, so I added it to the front and then trimmed it to size. This is much easier than cutting the paper and hoping that it is the correct size.
The layout is, as ever on #SimpleStamping Saturday, the layout is very similar on all versions, so I stamped the image and sentiment on Basic White. The foliage is die cut with the Layering Circles Dies, with an Evening Evergreen layer behind. The Sentiment has been punched with the Pick a Punch Banners Punch, again layered on Evening Evergreen.
Further Stepped Up Version
My second stepped up version introduces the Dies, Cotton Paper and the Garden Gems, which are stunning by the way! I replaced the Pick a Banner Punch with the sentiment die from the pack, this time using Gold Heat Embossing on Evening Evergreen, layered on Soft Succulent Cotton Paper.
I also replaced the scalloped circle with Cotton Paper, which die cuts REALLY well. But the big impact with this card is the die cut edge which really steps this project up. Add a few of the Garden Gems to finish.
If you are going to die cut through paper and card, you do need to make sure that you have adhered the two layers together really well. I used a very thin layer of Multi Purpose Liquid glue, concentrating on the right hand edge of the card front. Let it dry before you die cut through the layers. I hope you agree it is a stunning finish for a card.
