Fall/Autumn/Halloween Theme Stampers Showcase Blog Hop. Welcome to my blog. Whether this is your first time here, or you are a regular visitor. I have a couple of fun Halloween cards for you today. The first is a CASE of a card Tammy Wilson recently shared and it then led to the second one. It was a real light bulb moment and I was so happy with how this turned out.
The first card uses the very fashionable Alcohol Ink on Vellum technique for the lettering, although I use an old Clear Wink of Stella with 99% Alcohol added as my medium for moving the ink (you get lots of sparkle! I did change some of the elements from Tammy’s card (there is a link to that further down this post) and added a two tone Pumpkin Pie bow.
My colours for the background are Highland Heather, Basic Gray and Pumpkin Pie, applied with a Blending Brush, before embossing with the Acrylic Paint 3D Embossing folder. I spritzed the background with black ink from the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
A couple of strips of the Cute Halloween Paper, layered onto a Basic Black mat, embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing folder. The final touch was to add some Matt Black Dots.
I wanted to bring the outside of the card inside, so this is what I stamped. I will share how I did this shortly, but I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag just yet.
Now for the card that was inspired by Tammy’s and, as I mentioned, it was one of those light bulb moments when you think ‘why didn’t I think of that before!’. I used the Artistically Inked stamp set with Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather and Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers to ink up the large floral for the inside of the first card and loved the result. This led to the next card
Using the long stamp from the Artistically Inked stamp set, I repeated the same idea to make a random pattern. I covered the whole of a mat of Basic White card with this pattern, overlapping a few of the images. The result is this amazing ethereal looking pattern.
The pattern is so pretty that it really should be allowed to have a prominent place on the project, so I simply trimmed it to size before layering it on a piece of the Cute Halloween paper. I wrapped some Highland Heather Grosgrain Ribbon around these layers and added a small knot. The finishing touch was to heat emboss the Halloween definition from Well Defined in Black Embossing Powder on Highland Heather Card. What do you think?
