Christmas and Halloween Box Idea for Stamp N’ Hop. Welcome to another Blog Hop, this time with the Stamp N’ Hop Group. If this is your first visit, welcome, if you have been here before, welcome back!
This month we are sharing Projects using products from the current Mini Catalogue. I have a cute gift box to share, one for Halloween, using Mini Catalogue papers, and one for Christmas, using Annual Catalogue papers that I think we forget about. If you would like to replicate my boxes, you will find a step by step video tutorial further down this post, and dimensions at the bottom.
I am going through a bit of a box phase at the moment, having not made many over the past few months. I don’t know why I haven’t, but I must definitely make more, they are such fun to make. It is such an inexpensive way to make any gift special, but I especially like that you can use whatever colour or paper you wish, changing the look totally, as yo can see from these two.
The Christmas version uses the Tidings of Christmas Paper pack from the Annual Catalogue. I always forget that this stunning paper is in the Annual Catalogue, but having pulled it out for this project, I have remembered just how much I love it. In fact I love it so much that I am using it as the basis of my first Christmas Blitz Card Club.
I have paired the paper with Cherry Cobbler and the stunning Cherry Cobbler & Gold Ribbon from the current Mini Catalogue. This ribbon is the perfect addition for any Christmas Project, and who doesn’t love a bit of ‘bling’ at Christmas?
My Halloween version of the box uses the Cute Halloween paper from the Mini Catalogue, but the Metallic Mesh Ribbon is from the Annual Catalogue. I love that we can mix and match across catalogues, knowing that the colours will still be ‘true’.
Halloween is not an event that I tend to get that involved in, mostly because it is the same date as my late mother’s birthday, so we would always be celebrating that. But, the Cute Halloween papers are so versatile that they are worth getting even if you don’t do a huge amount of Halloween crafting. Card – 7-1/2 x 8″ – Score Long edge at 1-1/4″ and 5-1/5″ Score Short edge at 1/2, 2-3/4, 4 and 6-1/4″ You also want to score the short edge at 3-3/8″ and 6-7/8″ BUT only to 3-1/2″. Now, with the wider side to the left, score the narrow sides at 4″ (this is MUCH easier to show than write, so PLEASE watch the video!!)
