#SimpleStamping Saturday – Seasons of Fun Pumpkins. I know I am always amazed by how quickly Saturday comes around, but this week seems to have passed in a flash. That said, I have done SO much this week, even though it was meant to be a bit of a holiday. But more of that in the coming days, now is time to focus on #SimpleStamping Saturday and this week’s project using the Seasons of Fun Stamp Set that is one of the Host stamp sets in the current Mini Catalogue.
There are quite a few main images to use in the Seasons of Fun Host Stamp Set, but I am only using one of them for these projects. The cute Pumpkin Fancy Dress just seems perfect for Halloween projects. Although I am not a huge fan of Halloween, I do love a cute project.
I have used a Basic White Notecard for this cute little project. Stamping the images in Tuxedo Black and then colouring with Stampin’ Write Markers makes for a very quick card. Sadly I needed to use colours from all of the colour families, so this may not be the cheapest project.
Of course, it would be very simple to switch the Stampin’ Write Markers for Watercolour Pencils and a Blending Pen. Alternatively, if you have the ink pads you could use those with a Blending Pen. But how ever you chose to colour the image, you have to agree it is really cute!
Stepped Up Version
For my second card I have introduced coloured card, Designer Series Paper and some ribbon, as well as Stampin’ Blends. Stampin Blends are actually a really cost effective option because you can buy just the combo that you want for a project. The only problem with them is that you can’t use them on a single layer card because they bleed through to the reverse of the card.
If you visit my site reasonably frequently you will know I LOVE fussy cutting, so there is no great surprise that I have cut the image out. This image is not too tricky to cut, so it is certainly worth a go!
A few Opal Rounds and some Flirty Flamingo Metallic Ribbon certainly add to the fun of this card, I hope you agree! Oh, and can you see the image on the inside of the card? Such fun!
Stepped Up Version 2
For this version I decided to make a fun fold. It is a while since I have shared one on my blog, so at least I have addressed that for a while. That said, there is another one coming on Monday! Back to this one.
This is not that complicated to make. You start with a standard half sheet card base, cut long and thin, but cut away on half of one side. The second ‘mini card’ is simply a thin strip of card folded in half. In this case I started out knowing that I wanted the size to be at the same scale as the card base, so for my card I used a piece of card cut 9-1/2″ x 3″, folded in half (for metric you would need 24.2 x 7.7cm and for Letter you would need 8-3/4 x 3-1/8″)
To step the card up a little more I die cut a label and used the stars on the Star-crossed embossing folder, adding some Gorgeous Grape Ink with one of our Blending Brushes.
For a final touch, I added some Shimmer Crystal Effects to the pumpkin so it is really glossy for some added fun.
So, which is your favourite? I would love to know, so why not leave a comment for me. Remember that there is always a Video Tutorial for #SimpleStamping Saturday, so why not take a look at how I made the first version and see me talk through how I made the others.
