#SimpleStamping Saturday Festive & Bright. Well that’s another week gone already and another week nearer to Halloween. I thought today I would share a Halloween Card in my #SimpleStamping Saturday series. If this is your first visit to my website, Saturday is the day I share one project that I have made in three different ways, each stepping up from the one before.
#SimpleStamping Version
My first version will not come as a surprise to my regular followers. I took a Basic White Notecard and stamped the Halloween image from the stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink. I added the ‘Spooky’ sentiment and spider towards the top write of the card and added the spider to the top left of the envelope.
As you can see, I coloured the images. I used both sets of Watercolour Pencils so I had a purple, in this case Gorgeous Grape. The brooms are in Early Espresso, the hats in Basic Black (obviously!) with either a Gorgeous Grape or Pumpkin Pie band.
After blending with a Blender Pen the colours look wonderfully smooth. I was recently asked if you could use a water brush instead of a Blender Pen. You could, but I would not recommend doing other than on a specialist paper, such as Shimmery White or Fluid 100 Watercolour paper.
Stepped Version
I don’t generally add the dies for the first stepped up version of these projects, but as the Festive Finishes Dies can be used with the Mini Cut & Emboss, I thought they were not a huge jump.
As ever, I added coloured card, but I also added some of the Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper, both as a background and to fussy cut the ghosts from.
This time I coloured the images with Stampin’ Blends, specifically, Basic Black (light), Cinnamon Cider, Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather. The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black and I cut down the size of both the Basic White and Pumpkin Pie labels. Some Matt Black Dots finished the project of.
Further Stepped Up Version
For my final version I have added some Ombre Specialty Paper and some Black Glitter Paper. The stamping and colouring are the same as the previous version, but I only die cut the right edge. I layered this onto the Purple Ombre paper and then Black Glitter, each die cut with the right edge die. I split the Cute Halloween Paper and die cut the left side with the left edge die, layering that over the card with the images.
The finishing touches for this version are some very pale mauve ghosts, using the die from the Festive Finishes dies, popping these up for some extra detail. This time I heat embossed the sentiment for some shine, and layered onto the orange ombre paper.
For both stepped up version I added a small strip of pattered paper to the inside bottom edge of the card, this helps to bring the inside and outside together. For more information about all three version, remember to hop over to my YouTube Tutorial, linked below. Please ‘like’ and ‘subscribe’ whole you are there.
