Stampin’ for Christmas Blog Hop – Merriest Christmas. Welcome to a second post from me today. This is one of my regular Blog Hops with the Stampin’ for Christmas Design Team. Every month we provide you with inspiration so you can get ahead with your Christmas Crafting and, hopefully, avoid those last minute panics that we sometimes have to deal with.
Today my project features the Merriest Moments Bundle. This is not your ordinary Bundle, it is so much more. It has stamps and dies, but it also has a Hybrid Embossing Folder that can either be used in isolation or paired with the dies, as I have used it here. This means that your projects can be die cut and then run through the 3D Embossing Folder to provide amazing texture.
I have used some Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper with the most intricate of the large dies and then run it through the 3D Embossing Folder to take full advantage of the texture. To help to highlight the texture, I have added some very ‘loose’ colour using a Water Painter and ink. I chose Evening Evergreen, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Soft Succulent and Shaded Spruce to replicate the variety of leaves and berries in the die cut.
You can probably see that I carried the colour onto the central area of the die cut so that there was no harsh line between the coloured area and the centre, especially as the die that goes into the centre is slightly smaller than the central area of the watercolour die cut. I stamped and die cut a couple of poinsettias using stamped off Cherry Cobbler for a softer result. These were each topped with some die cut Cherry Cobbler card that had been heat embossed with the dots for the centre of the flower.
The background is Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder for added texture. A sentiment in Old Olive finishes the project nicely. I hope you enjoyed your visit today and will come and visit again soon. Why not subscribe to my Blog so you are sent an email every time I post?
