#SimpleStamping Saturday with Sweets & Treats. Welcome back to another #SimpleStamping Saturday Project. If you are a regular visitor to my Blog you will know that every Saturday I bring you one basic design, but made three different ways. The first is Quick and Easy, the next two are stepped up a little each time. This week it is the turn of Sweets & Treats, on page 11 of the new Mini Catalogue.
Let’s take a look at each of the projects in a little more detail. I hope you are ready.
#SimpleStamping Version
Every week the first version always makes the most of our fantastic Note Cards and Envelopes. These are available in both Basic White and Very Vanilla. This week I am using Basic White. I decided to stamp with Basic Gray Ink, rather than my usual Tuxedo Black. This ink gives a slightly softer look to a project, especially, as I did for the Cloche, you stamp off first, so only use second generation ink. Can you see the difference?
The colouring uses a very few colours from the first Watercolour pencil collection; Real Red, Old Olive, Early Espresso and, if you want, Basic Gray for some very soft shading on the pudding. The final touch was to add the sentiment over the cake stand, also in Basic Gray ink. Of course, as this is #Simple Stamping Saturday, I also decorated the envelope by stamping the holly and berries onto the bottom corner of the envelope. What do you think? Quick and simple to make.
Stepped Up Version
My first stepped up version introduces sheets of A4 Card cut to size. Thick Basic White is a great card for a card base, as here, and the ‘ordinary’ Basic White is perfect for stamping on with its very smooth finish. I also added some Real Red Card as a mat for a little extra detail. This time I stamped the individual elements in different colours. The cake stand is stamped in Real Red, the pudding in Soft Suede and the cloche in Soft Sea Foam.
I coloured each of the elements using Stampin’ Blends in matching colours, so the cake stand is coloured with Real Red Blends, the base of the pudding with Soft Suede Blends and I added a small amount of Light Soft Sea Foam to the cloche. The sentiment is stamped in a narrow strip of Basic White and added with Mini Dimensionals. To step this up a little further I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the icing on the pudding and in a couple of small areas on the cloche. The final touch was to add some Wonderful Gems around the sentiment and over the holly berries. So, with a few more ‘ingredients’ you can step your card up, but you don’t need to stop there.
Further Stepped Up Version
My final version for today introduces a few more elements, but repeats the colouring of the pudding from the last version. But this is not the slightly subtle version the last card was, this is full on ‘bling’ with the top mat cut from the FREE Be Dazzled Paper from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure. I used the Cloche Dies to die cut the hole for one of the Cloche Shaker Domes (which are already running low, so if you want them, you may wish to order them soon!) and added some of the Sequins for Everything as shaker elements.
This time I die cut a few elements from the Cloche Dies in Real Red and layered them up to form a plate for the pudding. The rest of the card is exactly the same as the previous version. The impact of this card is anything but subtle, thanks mostly to the FREE Sale-a-Bration Be Dazzling Paper. If this is an item you have your eye on, please place a Qualifying Order of either £45 or €60 and add it to your basket soon. This is one of the Sale-a-Bration items that will not go onto Back Order. Once it is gone, it is gone.
So what do you think? Which is your favourite version? Will you give any of them a go? I would love to hear from you, so why not leave a comment at the bottom of this post? You can see how I made the #SimpleStamping version by clicking the YouTube link below. I also go into a bit more detail about how I made the other versions.
