#SimpleStamping Saturday with Be Jolly. Firstly I am sorry this is later than usual, life just got away with me, well cutting product up for Product Shares was actually what took over my timing. Strangely, although there is a lot of work involved in preparing Product Shares, I really enjoy doing it. I love to take time over the preparation so that when my customers receive their shares they are well presented and full of lots of information about each of the products. This does take time, but the feedback from my customers confirms that they appreciate it.
But back to #SimpleStamping Saturday and the Be Jolly stamp set. This is so cute, with two adorable Father Christmas images, but there are other images too, and it is one of those that I am using today. The Christmas tree image is really sweet and I think it is being ignored. all of the samples I have seen so far use one of the Father Christmas images. Time for the Tree to take CentreStage, later this week it will be the turn of that tiny little bird, with the adorable hat.
#SimpleStamping Version
As ever, my first project is quick and simple to put together, using only Stamps, Ink and Paper. This is also known as a SIP card, so if you ever come across that acronym, you now know what it means.
I simple stamped the tree and sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, allowed it to dry completely, before colouring it with Stampin’ Write Markers Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight, all colours in the Brights Colour Family. In the video I switch these out for the 2020-2022 InColor Stampin’ Write Markers.
I always decorate the envelope on #SimpleStamping Saturday and today I used the bird, colouring just his hat. He really is the cutest little image and, as I mentioned, later in the week he will take CentreStage next week. If you are wondering why I am referring to CentreStage in that way, keep reading, I will explain later.
Stepped Up Version One
For my first stepped up version I have added some Shaded Spruce Card, Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper and Stampin’ Blends. I started in the same way, by stamping the tree with Memento Tuxedo Black and letting it dry fully. While the ink was drying, I covered the image with a mask cut from Sticky Note and then added some Balmy Blue Ink with a Blending Brush, simply to add a little area to help the image to look ‘grounded’. Once the ink was dry I coloured with Light Shaded Spruce, Dark Poppy Parade, Dark Daffodil Delight and Dark Balmy Blue, with the trunk in both shades of Soft Suede.
For the sentiment, I stamped in Shaded Spruce on a small piece of Basic White and layered that on a small piece of the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper. The stamped piece is layered on another piece of the Designer Series Paper and then on the Shaded Spruce card base. The finishing touches are some Red Rhinestones around the tree and sentiment, with the little bird stamped on the inside.
Stepped Up Version Two
My second stepped up version is not that different to the first one, but I have done a little fussy cutting and decoupage (admittedly, the wrong way round – watch the video for my explanation!). I changed how I did the sentiment from Shaded Spruce to Copper heat embossing, other than that, the card is exactly the same.
Can you see the decoupage? I love to change things up a little like this, and if you follow me regularly, you will have seen that I often use fussy cutting decoupage to step up my cards.
