#SimpleStamping Saturday – Textures & Frames. How can it be Saturday again already, it seems to have been just a couple of days since I last shared my last ‘One Design – Three Ways’ project with you. Today I am featuring just two stamps, from two Sale-a-Bration stamp sets. The main stamp set is the Textures & Frames and the ink splat image. I have added in the Counting Sheep stamp set, simply because I wanted a sentiment and the ‘You’re Amazing!’ sentiment caught my eye. Remember that these are each FREE with a £45 order, so this is a great time to stock up on some of those essentials, or treat yourself to some products from the new Mini Catalogue.
#SimpleStamping Version
I always start #SimpleStamping Saturday with one of our wonderful Notecards and this week is no different. As I wanted lots of colour, I added the 2021-2023 InColor Bundle. Buying all five of the InColors in a Bundle means you save money, which is always great! Because I wanted a black ink, I also added the Memento Tuxedo Black.
I simply stamped the ink splat across the card, about a third down from the top. I did pivot the stamp so it was not simply a row of the same ink splats, but a little more intentional. Adding the sentiment in Tuxedo Black finished off the card, so all I needed to do was stamp on the envelope and my #SimpleStamping project was finished.
First Stepped Up Version
For my first stepped up version I added in full sheets of Basic White in both ‘standard’ and Thick and repeated the stamping, just adding a couple of the image in each of the colours. I trimmed the mat down and then layered it on sheets of the 6 x 6″ InColor Designer Series Paper.
This time I added the sentiment on a strip of Basic White card, popped up on some Dimensionals, cutting flag ends by hand as a finishing flourish. More products, but still very simple and worth a try. Using paper in place of card means you get lots of sheets to play with, especially in the InColor Designer Series Paper packs.
Second Stepped Up Version
My last version adds more techniques, and, I admit, a few more products. This time I wanted to heat emboss the ink splats, but keeping the original Ink colours. This is actually pretty simple if you stamp on our wonderful Vellum card. Because the ink stays wet for longer there is plenty of time to add Clear Stampin’ Emboss powder. Occasionally when you use this technique, something a little surprising happens. This time was one of those times. When I heated the Magenta Madness ink, the colour became a more neon shade, much nearer to the Light Magenta Madness Stampin’ Blend.
This time the sentiment is Heat Embossed with Black powder and I added lots of Basic Rhinestones, having first coloured them with Stampin Blends. I wrapped the vellum around the first layer of card and added more Designer Series Paper to help draw the eye to the centre of the image you really want to be seen.
That’s it from me for another week. I have a busy weekend planned clearing out my, so called, Craft Studio. It is currently a tip, so I am hoping that the wet weather forecast will help me to focus on the job in hand. All retired items are going to be boxed up and put in storage for a while. I am hoping to end up with some spare space, although I don’t hold out much hope for that. I do need some space so I can start to pack up the Retreat Boxes for my Virtual Team Retreat. As I have Team in Europe, I need to allow extra time to get things across in good time for the event on 12th September.
