Nature’s Harvest for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights – Time to VOTE! Yes, it is that time of the month again, when I shamelessly ask you to vote for me in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights. The prize is a ‘something money can’t buy’ prize – to do a Winners’ Blog Hop with Kylie and 9 other winners. My entry is number 27 on Kylie’s Blog Post, which you can access by clicking HERE or on the button at the bottom of the main part of this post.
I have chosen the Nature’s Harvest Bundle and Harvest Meadow Suite from the new Mini Catalogue for my project today. I love this whole Suite with some really interesting elements to it, including the Cork Specialty Paper and Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots, both of which I have used in my project today.
Now, I am told that I am sometimes too honest for my own good, so here we go with some of that honesty. I have Cased my card from one of the samples in the Catalogue, although I think the result of mine is quite different; the colour palette certainly is. So why not go and have a look at page 54 of the Mini Catalogue and see what you think.
I used Stampin’ Write Markers to ink up the daisy stamp for the tag and stamped this onto some Fluid 100 Watercolour paper. I like my watercolour paper to have a really smooth surface so it stamps cleanly. The Fluid 100 paper is not quite as smooth as I would like, but I have a really easy tip for you to achieve a REALLY smooth surface when using Fluid 100. To find out the details, take a look at the REPLAY of my Thursday YouTube Live HERE. It is a really simple, but makes such a difference! Having stamped the colour, I used a Water Painter to move the ink around so the result is close to a watercolour painting. I used Old Olive, Bumblebee, Calypso Coral, Cinnamon Cider and a little Soft Suede.
The front tag is cut from Very Vanilla, this is layered on a tag using the Cork Specialty Paper. As there is a lot of the cork covered up and because I don’t want to waste it, I die cut the reinforcement ‘hole’ from the middle of the cork tag. No one but you will ever know, but it means the cork will go further! I love using Linen Thread on ‘natural’ projects, so it was an easy choice for this Thank You Card. I also like to make sure the ends of the thread are under control, so added a few tiny dots of Multi Purpose Liquid Glue to the card and attached the tails of the bow to these. This means that I know that the recipient will get the card as I intended and not with the ends ‘all over the place’! A simple tip, but an invaluable one, I hope you agree.
The main Neutral in the Designer Series Paper is Crumb Cake, so I used this for the sentiment label and the ears of wheat. Now, what you may not know is that our family crest is an ear of wheat, so any stamp set or die that includes this is always going to be a winner for me, and I have another project coming soon that includes this die cut. The finishing touch for today’s project are a few of the new Brushed Metallic Dots. A Demonstrator friend of mine suggested that these may take over from the InColor Jewels as my ‘favourite’ embellishment; I like them, and they are certainly my favourite of the Mini Catalogue, but the InColor Jewels still hold the ‘favourite’ spot!
I hope you like this project and will consider voting for me. It would be great to be included in the Winners’ Hop later in the month, so if you would be kind enough to vote for me, you have until this time next week to vote, and I will be keeping my fingers crossed!
