YouTube Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – Paper and More Paper (for LESS!). Last week a strange thing happened, all because I played with my least favourite Designer Series Paper, I started to LOVE IT! And here’s a confession, I have ended up buying another pack of the paper, and the stamp bundle! I know, total madness!
Or is it? I know I shouldn’t be the person to say this, but I love this card, it just came together so easily. I have used quite a few layers of card and paper, but with a simple design sometimes that can make such a difference. You will see in the video that I hid a secret with this card, which will mean you can get even more out of your patterned papers. Just a quick tip.
The cheetahs (or are they jaguars?) are cut from the Designer Series Paper. If you know me at all, you will know that I LOVE fussy cutting, I sometimes even forget that I have dies that will cut images. As it is, even with the bundle, there are no dies that will cut out these particular images, some of the Big Cats, yes, but not these.
I added some of the Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon to the front of the card, between the two card layers of mats. I have a bit of a ‘thing’ about ‘grounding’ images, rather than having them hang in the middle of the card. Adding a strip of card or a piece of ribbon can give the ‘shelf’ I am looking for.
My finishing touches for this card were to stamp the sentiment, which comes from the Plentiful Plants stamp set, which happened to be on my desk. This is in Evening Evergreen, so to keep the embellishments tied together, I added some Evening Evergreen InColor Jewels too, just three to help bring everything together. The very last touch was to add a strip of the same Patterned Paper at the bottom of the inside of the card. To see exactly how I made this card, in real time, warts and all, please go and take a look at the video linked below.
