#SimpleStamping Saturday – Path To Greatness. This stamp set has been on my wish list for a while, and I have finally got my hands on it! I think it is a really overlooked set, but is actually good for so many levels of crafter, as I hope to show you today.
I am not sure I have made a more straightforward card for a #simplestamping project before, but if I have, I have certainly forgotten it. This is about as straightforward as you can get. Stamps, Ink and Paper, or SIP, cards really are quick and simple to put together. For this card I chose to use a Basic White Note Card and Envelope, paired with Gray Granite. Gray Granite is one of my favourite colours. A warm grey is good for so many projects, on Basic White or Very Vanilla (watch the video to see this in Very Vanilla).
Just look at the shading that the stamp does for you. It really is as simple as inking up two stamps and applying them to the card front. Add the brick pattern to the flap of the envelope for a really well finished project.
Stepped up Version
My first stepped up version adds some of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and a layer of Petal Pink Card. I love fussy cutting, so it was obvious to me that I was going to cut this image out and pop it up on Dimensionals. It is possible that, for this version, to fussing cut the sentiment was a step too far, it is very narrow after all.
To help to tie the various pieces together, I added some Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend to the shadows in the stamp set. It is very subtle, but definitely adds something, as does the addition of the Clear Wink of Stella to the pillars. I added a few of the clear Elegant Faceted Gems around the sentiment and focus image. To see what I did to the inside of the card, simply watch the Video Tutorial.
Further Stepped Up Version
Now this version was fun to make! It looks very similar to the previous version, and to an extent it is, certainly from this angle. The treatment is exactly the same as for the last version, with the addition of Light Petal Pink Blend and a touch of Clear Wink of Stella. I used the white Elegant Faceted Gems for this version. But the main difference is when you see this card from the side.
This was always something I was going to do, and I had to keep myself in check a little. Fussy cutting the image to get some additional feeling of dimension is not difficult. I will admit that cutting the sides of the Dimensionals and then adding them to the the layers was a bit fiddly, but so worth it. This picture just about shows the shimmer from the Wink of Stella. I love Wink of Stella, it is so subtle and often just what is needed to lift a project.
I hope you enjoyed today’s #simplestamping Saturday projects. Please take a look at the video for more information about all the projects. The video is under 10 minutes long so not much time out of your busy day.
