#SimpleStamping Saturday – Hand-Penned Paper. Happy Saturday to you all, I hope you had a good week. Did you enjoy the blog hops I was part of this week? There were some AMAZING projects to look at, so I hope you got some inspiration along the way. Today is, of course, Saturday, so it is time for another #SimpleStamping Saturday. I have some really quick card ideas to share with you, using discounted Designer Series Paper. Let’s face it, the only thing better than Designer Series Paper is DISCOUNTED Designer Series Paper.
As ever on #SimpleStamping Saturday, I am starting with one of our Note Cards and Envelopes, this week I am using Basic White. The ide behind this set of cards is to use both the A and B sides of this, oh so pretty, Designer Series Paper. To be honest, I was slightly surprised that it was included in the current 15% Off Promotion as it is a very popular pack. But it is, so the design of my card is to use the B side to cover the whole card front and then add a smaller piece of the A side of the same design, followed with a sentiment on another piece of the B side.
All went well until I was shooting the video, when I suddenly realised that I had used the A side first! Oops! Not to be deterred, I simply added an extra layer behind the sentiment. On the subject of which, the sentiment is taken from the stamp set included in the Let’s Party Treat Packaging Kit. I also used the same colour ink as the Stampin’ Spot that is included in the kit, although I used my full sized ink pad. And the finishing touch was to use some of the really pretty embellishments from the Notes of Cheer Card Kit. The kits include more than you need to complete the projects, so why not use them on other projects?
Stepped Up Version
My first stepped up version adds full sized card, plus some additional layers, but the basic principle is the same, use the #B Side for the background and then add the A Side as a feature. The sentiment is the same idea, using the B Side of the paper as my stamping surface. This time, rather than manually cutting the flag, I used the Banners Pick a Punch for both layers. For some extra detail I added some White Baker’s Twine and after tying the bow I curled the ends and kept them in place by adding some tiny dots of Multi-Purpose Liquid adhesive behind.
Second Stepped Up Version
This time I added even more Coloured Card, but also included the Stitched Rectangles to die-cut the focal area, plus the sentiment piece. For a little more texture, I embossed the Daffodil Delight layer with Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. I also switched to the 2021-2023 InColor Jewels, these really help to pick up the yellow tones, although they are Pale Papaya. I have included details of the two kits I used at the end of my usual shopping list, but you can use any sentiment you already have in your stash.
So, what do you think, do you like the cards? I hope you do and will give this idea a go. Remember that you can save on the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper until the end of 2nd August, as well as the other 8 designs included. I have included a second shopping list, just for these papers. It is a great time to stock up.
