Joyful Life Stamp Set – Sneak Peek. I had such fun making this set of three card with the Joyful Life Stamp Set (#156529) from the New Mini Catalogue. The images are just such fun and perfect for so many occasions, I can even see the Pig being used for Halloween colouring the scarf in one of the Harry Potter House Colours. And I finally got round to breaking out the Plenty of Patterns Masks, which are new in the Annual Catalogue.
This really is such a happy looking Pig, holding his cup of coffee or hot chocolate. The background is Soft Succulent applied with one of the fantastic Blending Brushes; such an easy way to add some texture to your background. With an Evening Evergreen card base, I layered the background onto Soft Succulent Card and Black Glitter Paper, which is coming back in the new Mini Catalogue!
The Pig is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I used Petal Pink for the main colour, with Soft Succulent, Soft Seafoam and Soft Suede for the scarf, cup and glasses. Of course I had to fussy cut him and add him with Dimensionals, it is the law! A few Soft Succulent InColor Jewels finish this card off with an extra bit of sparkle.
Next up is the cycling Bear with the little rabbit in his front basket. This time I used Evening Evergreen for the blending through another of the masks. The layering for this card is Evening Evergreen, the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper which is FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-Bration, on an Evening Evergreen card base. I ‘gutted’ the Be Dazzling Paper by cutting it into a frame of about 1/2″ wide, this means I can use the centre for another project.
The colouring for this image used Soft Succulent, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite and Soft Seafoam. Again, I fussy cut the image and added it to the card with Dimensionals. The sentiment is white Heat Embossing on Evening Evergreen, and I added Evening Evergreen InColor Jewels this time.
The last card in this selection has a totally different colour palette, moving away from soft, earthy tones and to the fantastic Polished Pink, a ‘real’ pink. The basic construction is still the same, a mask with colour added with a Blending Brush for an ombre finish. This is layered onto a Polished Pink layer, another Basic White layer on a Polished Pink card base. I added some of the Polished Pink Open Weave ribbon with the sentiment stamped underneath, in Polished Pink ink, of course.
The Hedgehog is coloured with Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, Polished Pink, Gray Granite and Evening Evergreen. Fussy cutting and Dimensionals again, of course, with Polished Pink InColor Jewels.
I hope you will agree that these are three really fun cards, perfect for lots of occasions, and certainly not just for Christmas. I really enjoyed using the masks and must remember to use them for more projects, there are so many techniques you can use with them, ink blending is just one.
