Celebrate Sunflowers with Blogging Friends. Today is another Blog Hop day, I seem to be on a roll with these at the moment, or all the groups I am part of all hop early or late in the month, so they all come along at the same time.
Our Theme this month is ‘Summer WOW Cards’, so I am hoping my card fits the brief. It is my first proper attempt and no line colouring and, of course, I had to use one of favourite stamp set (which will never get rid of this set!) Celebrate Sunflowers. It was such fun colouring the image of the sunflower. I started by stamping it in 2nd generation So Saffron so that the ink was only just visible. I actually only used a very few colours, which are listed below in the Product List.
The card base is a simple Z Fold which I have added a couple of layers of card to both the fold back front and the inside. Because the Stampin’ Blends bleed through to the back of the White Card, I added a second die cut to the revers of the coloured version before sticking it to the front of the card.
I knew that the cards needed something extra and tried adding some stamped and coloured leaves to the right of the white card, but that didn’t look right. Then I remembered that there is an outline leaf die, so I tried one of those in the Gold Metallic Specialty Paper, and that worked really well to the left of the front, so I added 2 and coloured the card within the die cut with Clear Wink of Stella.
A quick heat embossed sentiment, fussy cut twice for added impact, and I declared the card finished. What do you think? Did I fill the brief? Leave me a comment to let me know what you think. Do remember to hop over to the other Team Members to see what they have made. You can find the list just below.
