YouTube Live Crafting REPLAY with Liz – All Squared Away. Did you catch my You Tube Live on Tuesday? I was using the All Squared Away Bundle. I mostly featured the Floral Squares Dies for some simple stacking of pieces.
Having not given it enough attention, I decided to pull the Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper. After playing with it just this one, I am now a convert and, not only will I ‘need’ to order some more paper, I think the whole Suite may end up in my next order! More on that in the coming days. But for now, let’s take a look at the cards I made using this paper.
The first card I made was mostly in Evening Evergreen (a fantastic colour in my view), using not only the patterned paper using this colour, but also the Classic Ink, Shimmer Vellum, In-Color Jewels and Chevron Weave Ribbon.
By choosing a darker shade of green and keeping the card both monochromatic and simple, the result is perfect for both men and women. We all know how difficult it can be to design for men!
My second card still used the Plant Where You’re Bloomed Paper, but this time I added a little more colour. Cinnamon Cider is in the Designer Series paper, so that was an obvious choice, and a little Crushed Curry added that little lift.
I added the ribbon that is this month’s ordering special FREE Gift, the Soft Succulent Ribbon to soften the feel of the card. I added this so that the ends of the knot come through the die cut. This ribbon still gives me so much joy, it seems to blend so well with all of the green aqua shades we have.
The embellishments are the Playing With Patterns Resin Dots that have carried over from the last Annual Catalogue. I coloured one of the small Purple Posy dots with the Dark Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Blend to use as the centre of the flower. These fit perfectly in that space and add a slightly different finish to it.
For my final card, I switched to the 2021-2023 In-Color Designer Series Paper stack, again pulling the Evening Evergreen. I also switched to Very Vanilla for my ‘neutral’ and inlaid the ‘negative’ pieces of the die for a good solid background. Dress this up with ribbon or some more of those amazing In-Color Jewels, for a special occasion, or keep it simple for a ‘just because’ card.
So what do you think? Do you love the simplicity of these Dies as much as I do? The sentiments are great for so many other stamp sets too, so don’t just look at the squares.
I have an ordering special for qualifying orders placed between 1st and 30th June that use the following Host Code:
