#SimpleStamping Saturday Featuring – Bamboo Beauty. Well, here I am with another #SimpleStamping Saturday and this time I have a real Beauty for you (pardon the pun!) I used the Bamboo Beauty stamp set for the card I shared with you yesterday. If you missed that, you can find the post HERE. Today’s card is not a million miles from yesterday’s, but I don’t actually think that is a bad thing.
#SimpleStamping Version
I have kept with Very Vanilla as my background for this project, using one of the Note Cards and Envelops. For me bamboo and Very Vanilla are a given, especially if you stick to the browns that I have chosen for today’s project. I will have to try using some of the greys and see what happens, it might be a fantastic result. Anyway, I used just two ink colours, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede, but got three shades by stamping the Soft Shade off for the foliage. Stamping on the envelope is a given for #SimpleStamping Saturday and today is no exception.
Stepped Up Version
My first stepped up version is very similar to the original, but introduces coloured card, Early Espresso and Soft Suede, for the layers. I added some of the Genial Gems in Pale Papaya, these add a subtle sparkle without being ‘obviously’ Pale Papaya. I am loving that so many of the embellishments and ribbons this year work across more than one colour. If you place a qualifying order with me this month you will get to see just how forgiving the Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon is, working with so many of the aqua greens.
Stepped Up Even More Version
Now, for this version I did go to town a little. First I added Copper heat embossing for the bamboo canes, before adding the foliage in Gold. Gold Embossing Powder can be a little temperamental if you heat it too often, so adding these elements after the Copper means it behaved. I considered heat embossing the sentiment too, but decided against it, as much as anything because you can lose the definition if the font is fine, as in this case. I added some of the Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper as a mat, after ‘gutting’ the middle section to use on another project. The Early Espresso was carried over to this version too it adds a great contrast to the Rose Gold, and I added these layers to the card base using Dimensionals. Of course I had to use even more of the Genial Gems. This time I added them to the top left as well as surrounding the sentiment.
What do you think? Which is your favourite? None of them are especially time consuming, it is simply a case of adding more product and techniques for each of the stepped up versions. Do let me know which is your favourite by leaving a comment here or on my YouTube Channel.
