Coffee and Card YouTube Replay featuring Seascape. The Seascape Bundle was an unexpected addition to my last order, as were the Layering Diorama Dies. As I wanted to feature them during my regular Coffee and Card YouTube Live on Tuesday, but, as ever, was not quite as prepared as I wanted to be, I thought I would ‘CASE’ the card on page 12 of the Annual Catalogue.
I chose to use our Blue Aquas for this card, so pulled a layer of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party, on a Basic White card base. I started to build the card from the bottom up, starting with the Bermuda Bay layer. This is the only full layer on the card and needed the Seaweed/Coral heat embossing in White, plus some fish in Bermuda Bay for a tone-on-tone finish.
The Coastal Cabana layer has a smaller Diorama die cut from the middle. These dies come in three sets within the larger set, this means you can have them layered so that the shapes are the same on each layer, or, as I have done here, you can get more movement by mixing the sets. I added some small fish in Coastal Cabana, repeating the tone-on-tone look again. The Pool Party layer also had tone-on-tone stamping before I layered all the pieces together with a generous number of Dimensionals.
I sued the dies from the Sea Life Dies for the small fish (in Mango Melody) and the seaweed (in Granny Apple Green). For the larger fish I stamped the image twice, once in Mango Melody and once in Pumpkin Pie. There aren’t any dies for this image, but it is really simple to fussy cut.
The finishing touches were a heat embossed ‘Thank You’ from the stamp set on Bermuda Bay card, layered onto a roll of Silver Mesh Ribbon, then the addition of some Opal Rounds, which give the perfect underwater shimmer.
